Autumn Leaves

The autumn leaves are falling;
There's crispness in the air.
I marvel at God's handiwork
He has given us to share.

The leaves they keep on swirling
As round and round they go---
Shades from a golden sunset,
Their beauty all aglow.

I'm like a child at Christmas;
I cease to understand

The meaning of each twirling leaf
And the beauty of our land.
Then I close my eyes, envisioning leaves
As different  people we meet each day,
Their lives entwining ours,
Circling close then flying away.
How majestic is His creation---
People and leaves of every race and hue.

And kneeling down with childlike faith,
I give thanks for another autumn view
