THAT'S MY LAND
Author Fred
Toothaker | |
AMERICA,Where the turf lies
green and the streams
run clear | |
AMERICA, And the birch trees gleam
with their white
veneer | |
AMERICA, Where the air stays pure and
the skies stay blue Where the
sun shines bright and the
clouds are few, |
 |
|
|
AMERICA, Where the soil bed's rich in fertile
earthTo produce the crops
that are treasure worth | |
AMERICA, Where the climate's such that it
stimulates And the rainbow
shows when the storm
abates, | |
|
AMERICA, Where the corn stands tall in an
August sun And the wind blows
soft till the harvest's
done | |
|
AMERICA, Where the days are warm and the
nights are cool And the folks all practice the golden
rule, | |
|
AMERICA, When the sun sets red and the dawn
comes bright And it makes you
feel that the worlds just
right, | |
AMERICA, Where the roots go deep to a moisture
bed to resist a drought that
may lie ahead |
|
|
| AMERICA, Where the friends you make are the
friends you'll keep, And the seeds you sow are the seeds
you'll reap, | |
AMERICA, Where the neighbors help when
it's help you need,
While it matters not
what your faith or creed |
