Years of Loving
As "children" we give little thought to love,
maybe our puppy, favorite toy or
Mom and Dad when they give us a hug.
As "adolescents" we begin to grow
toward stronger feelings that allow love to show.
He thinks she's cute, she thinks he's cool.
We learn the meaning of "Valentines" given in school.
He pulls her pigtails, she pretends to scream....
But in their hearts they know what it means.
The "teenage years" come so fast, controlled by passion
you think forever they will last.
That's when you feel it's more than words
and it touches your heart.
That's when the pain of real love starts.
You feel it in your the depths of your soul,
"First Love, True Love" then so quickly taken away.
You want the pain to end, you can't take it another day.
Why did this happen if love is so grand?
How can they walk away while in tears there you stand?
You think you won't survive, but really you do and
once again you start searching for a love that's true.
You reach the age of "adulthood" and found your
"true soul mate", but is this another stop along
the road to your fate?
Some hearts are lucky...they find their love so true.
Others keep on searching.......
Searching their whole life through.
Perhaps they had the chance, but decided with their mind
this isn't what I'm looking for,
I know there's a "better find"..... so before
you end up lonely there's something you should know,
it's not in the physical being, but in the "soul"
that true love grows....
